World Heart Day Celebration 2012
The heart is one of the most important organs in the entire human body. It is the organ that pumps oxygenated blood to all the parts of the body.
Every year on 29th September we celebrate World Heart Day and encourage all people worldwide to take care of their hearts. POET celebrated World Heart day on 4th October. POET had invited Dr. Bangaru Girish who is a leading Cardiologist Consultant at Panacea Hospital to deliver a lecture on importance and awareness on maintaining good life style and good cardiac health. Dr. Girish explained how healthy lifestyle can help us to keep our heart healthy, symptoms of heart diseases and heart attack, measures and action to be taken in case of heart attack.
Dr. Girish narrated that modern lifestyle, hypertension and obesity lead to heart attack. He further stated that there is no mild heart attack or severe heart attack. Bad Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) is a form of cholesterol that leads to clogged arteries and heart disease. After lecture, question hour was conducted. POETians actively participated by asking questions and getting their doubts cleared. We thank Dr. Girish for sharing important info inspite of his busy schedule. POET thanked & honoured Dr. Girish with flower bouquet and a gift. Dr. Girish also conveyed his happiness and joy over the event and expressed his support to POET for any health checkup needed by POETians.
